The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 is just amazing!
The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 is an absolutely amazing product. It's now the core of my new home studio along with my Apollo X4. I switched from the Line 6 Helix Family platform because I wanted to be able to record the tones from the same Marshall Jubilee amps that I own. The UAD-2 plug-ins are so realistic that I can't tell the difference between the the plug-in or the actual amps using the same exact settings. Adding the UAD-2 Satellite OCTO gives me all of the extra DSP I need to run inside of my DAW. The sound is incredible realistic. Worth every single penny.

UAD-2 IS THE BEST, BUT...
...as a Universal Audio customer (with an Apollo 8, several purchased plugins and now the Sat) I would have hoped to get at least one plugin free. I have nothing more to say except that the sound is fantastic.

Works as expected
As a non professional engineer I my work flow is more intuitive than planned so I wanted to have more room to play with while trying different plugins ect. without worrying too much about dsp. With 8 cores I rarely run into problems in that regard.

I am old UAD user. Began with uad-1 pci, then uad-2 pci-e and now uad-2 tb3 octo sattelite.
UAD plugins is the main reason we are all love it! My favs are fatso, precision multiband, emt 250. Can't find a replacement for these.
Almost all stuff is outstanding and close enough to hardware. Just 3rd party plugins is not top notch.
I can recommend uad-2 to all who needs UAD plugins, all who wants to work @ 96K without stressing CPU to much or laptop producers.
For fully UAD experience even without native plugins you will need 2 or 3 OCTO cards (depends on tracks quantity and style of music).
So, happy user here for almost 15 years.
Just sad about current UAD promo. I just get new octo sattelite but it is promo device (audio shop's fault). So I can't get 5 plugins (((

A must have when mixing gets serious
When dealing with the modern production or working on a mixing session, things can easily get too much for your cpu and system to handle. UAD-2 Satellite with TB3 connection helps you out in that kind of situation. My 2013 MBP has now some extra juice to run my clients audio mixing sessions. TB3 is a future proof and it's also backward compatible with tb2 and even tb1 devices, just get yourself an adapter and a tb cable and you are ready to go. It comes packed with good old classic pro plugins and you can do everything you need with those from scratch, however, I bought my satellite when there was an extra offer so I also received Avalon, Lexicon and some other goodies with it. Great tool and option for any serious audio enthusiasts as well as the professionals as you may already know. Both thumbs up, all the way. Good job Universal Audio.

I received the TB3 Satellite Quad core via year end promo for free!! Because I bought an Apollo x6 mainly for studio EDM production. So altogether I have 10 cores to deal with. That's plenty. More than enough for my creative productions, hardly used 50% of total power in my projects, so there will be a lot of "headroom" for Luna usage, I think.
As for the Satellite, it's really robust physically. And it's a plug 'n' play device, fast via Thunderbol 3 connection in the setup. I have still places left to buy two more UAD devices if I want to expand the home studio. Great!!

uad is perfect.
If you use a Mac, I definitely recommend it to you.
But the price is not cheap. I hope it will be cheaper.
I hope a lot of musicians approach it at a lower price than now.
The reason is that the price is so expensive that I want to recommend it, but I can't recommend it to musicians without money. I feel very sorry for this.
uad is so good. But I hope there are more benefits.
I'm dissatisfied that the coupons also only apply to payments over $ 100.
