Worth it!
Just to give you guys an idea of the power.... running 10 instances of shape, two minimoog, 6 NEVE 1084's, Capital Chambers, 4 Studio D chorus, 2 Fairchild 670's, 2 Pultec EQP-1A Legacy's, 1 Pultec Pro Legacy. All that and DSP is only 64%, PGM 37% memory 2%. And if you don't know the NEVE 1084 is a beast! Uses a lot of processing power. I do not regret this purchase at all, worth every penny, no more worrying about what plug-in to use and not use.

I would always reach my limit of plug-ins while searching for a sound or wanting to add an effect to a new track. Those past experiences would kill my workflow. The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 has solved that problem for me. It works as advertised.

Better than ever
I had previously purchased the firewire version of the accelerator and loved it. This version is quicker and more stable working with the new UAD interface that I purchased at the same time. Great hardware to use with my DAW.

Plug and Play
I registered the satellite and connected to my TB3 connection at my MacBook Pro and connected my Apollo Twin X to TB3 of the satellite. Works fine

Very easy to set up with my existing Apollo Twin. Sessions in LUNA are running fast and efficient. This was all the extra power I needed for my UA workflow.

Gives you the extra UAD Plug-in power you need in your DAW
I started out with an Apollo Twin-X and it works fantastic, I found myself wanting more plug-in power, as some of the really high processing intensive ones used up my Apollos processors. I got the Octo to now give me a total of 10 processors and I can use plugins on multi track projects. The only thing I did not realize was that the Satellite processors cannot be used in the console app. Which in one way makes sense because the processing done in the console app is on the way in. It just seems odd that as much as Universal Audio promotes you to use their console app, to use the majority of my plug in power I have to use it in the DAW. The Satellite unit itself is very well built as all of Universal Audio's products, very easy to setup, just open the box, plug it in, register it (if you already have the Universal Audio software package installed) and you're up and running, within the DAW it works great. so I knocked off one star for the no console usage even though It may not be possible to pull that off. A solid 4 Star piece of equipment

maybe I'll get another satellite someday. But one thing I'd like to say to myself, "stop watching gear and just focus on writing a good song."

I highly recommend getting this if you have an Apollo. Now I can run as many uad plugins as I want
