Better tape than never
Great for that overall tape sound, some super presets. Ability to go from very subtle to really messy with the wow & flutter, tape delay and eq etc. So useful for track or bus fx as well as mixing / mastering.

Lo primero que les puedo decir es MUCHAS GRACIAS Universal Audio Por crear estos plugins que suenan super chingones.
Mis mesclas suenan mucho mejor que con mis ante-pasadas,Todos mis colegas me dice (que chingaos estas haciendo en tus mesclas) solo les digo que Universal Audio es lo que uso y dicen que como puedo tener ese color analogo tan original.
Unos de mis grandes Amigo y productor me felicito por el color an la cinta Ampex-ATR102 dice que el no distinge que fue hecha en la computadora y que todas las carateristicas de la cinta estan presentes como la real...
Mil Gracias a todos los trabajadores de Universal Audio que trabajan tan duro para que todos los musicos,productores y ingenieros estemos tan contentos los queremos mucho..

What a difference
I bought the original LA-2A plug-in, and I was disappointed. What it added to the sound, I didn't want. When they announced the 'new' version, I was skeptical, to say the least. But, as my poor bill-paying wife would warn you, once you try it, you're going to buy it. I've been using the 'gray' version on vocals and bass and OMG…what a difference! While the first version sounded grainy, with a bit of tin—this one is just pure power in a knob. Rock and roll!

Adds so much punch
You never know how much this plug-in will add to a mixdown until you try it. I didn't think a tape simulator would do much but add noise, but boy, was I wrong. It just seems to take it from 'decent mix,' to WOW!
The two week trial is all you'll need to figure out that you're going to buy it, so don't start the demo until you can afford to shell out the bucks.

I'm very satisfied by this plug. I can feel the analog sound under my hand. It's very musical, great on your bus master and for your mastering.

Can't live without it.
Through an unfortunate series of events, I recently lost the authorization for my Lexicon 224 and my Ampex ATR-102 plug ins. I was devastated. I have a huge arsenal of plug-ins from nearly every plug in manufacturer—over 40 reverbs—but I was unable to find any 'verb that sounded the same, or as good. I had no choice but to repurchase both plugs. I know this is supposed to recreate some 80's hardware unit, but really, it's the best sounding reverb I own, bar none. It's so smooth, you forget it's on the track. Take it away and you're scrambling to find a suitable replacement. It goes on sale once in a while, and when it does, do yourself a favor and get this plug. The ATR-102 is also great; I'll review it separately.

Smooth, warm & fuzzy
very impressed with the redesign of the 1176 collection over the original UAD1 1176LN....more more accurate replication of the hardware units, especially when driven hard.....overall much smoother & silkier compression, with a great fuzz when pushed hard, especially on the AE model. Big Thumbs up!

Works great on vocals
I'm using the AE version on a dialogue group and it works amazing. 2:1 compression, with slow attack and dialogue is just There, as clear as it can be. It even brings out that hi-middle range so perfectly I don't even use eq for brightening things. Only for cutting the low end and some other frequencies.
Works differently then the old plugin do.
For 99us at the moment this is a really great buy.

Absolute the best EQ!
Great Stuff! Once installed and fallin in Love with the Plug. Next to the PulteqPro - it´s the only Plugg I use to boost frequencies. Okay - it´s a bit CPUhungry - but I installed an Octo card - and I don´t really care about the cpuconsumption! The sound I get from the plugg is absolutely outstanding! Thanx UA - great work!

Nothing glues busses or the master buss like this gem. It just makes everything sound so natural, familiar and in the same room.

My go-to for vocals. Impressed with the sound of these plugs. Also sound incredible on bass and drums. UAD really nailed the sound of the original hardware with this collection.

this is the absolute best software reverb i know.
just buy it. it's so responsive yet it will not overload your mixes, it has lots of "Air", also amazing controls, very detailed.

A good thing just got really, really good!
I wasn't going to get these 'cause I have and use a multitude of different compressors.
Still, I activated the demo... and now use it on every vocal I record.
I'm absolutely thrilled by what this does to the tracks.
Presence is brought up front but doesn't overpower.

Not it only is it great for mastering it's great for a quick doubling effect on vocals and I use it a lot on guitars thickens them up

Think Again...!
I was like, "I already have the 1176LN for my UAD, love it...They're just trying to sell me something I already have." ..uh, no. The Classics are in a different class, clearer, more musical...really it was an 'Oh Wow" moment for me. After that, it was an easy choice.

Love these.
I love these limiters. I use both vintage UREI and UA 1176s for tracking on a daily basis. These plugins feel and respond like the hardware, and have all of the subtle character differences found amongst the different hardware revisions. I like the Waves CLA76 "Bluey" plugin a lot, but it sounds a little "harder", whereas the UA 1176 collection sounds much smoother and more accurately matches the input/output gain stages of the hardware. I would love to try tracking a vocal through one of these UA 1176 plugins, I have my reservations, but I use the hardware every day, so let's see what's up!! So great to have these in my mix arsenal! Can't wait to get the LA-2 plugins next!

These really add some depth
Great sonics on these plugs. Nice round character to the sound. Really a great improvement over the original LA-2A. These will get a lot of use.
