Not entirely unexpected

After hearing, over the years, how good UAD plugins were, and then finally native, I took the plunge with Spark. I have to say the results are as impressive as I'd hoped! So far, along with the reverbs and chorus, I've mainly focused on the Compressors, and 1176/LA-2A in particular, and following serial compression tutorials, I'm getting the exact, professional type sound that I've been looking for! It would appear that all of the reports are true! I look forward to exploring a lot more, in fact, I've purchased bundles separately now, for as and when my subscription ends! Thanks UAD.

What a change!

I’ve tried many API channel strips on my drum mixbuss but none of them sounded like this API…the 3D sound I was looking for is really there, and the EQ section is incredible.

Am I using this right?

I was really excited to hear this on my already recorded demos but found it to be really lacking. It made everything sound thin yet muddy which is weird to say the least. Also it’s INSANELY taxing on CPU to the point where even if it did sound good I probably wouldn’t use it much. Luckily I got it in a bundle with the API vision channel strip so it wasn’t a complete waste of money (though I only got it to get sound city on sale). Seriously thought if anyone at UAD reads this let me know if I’m doing something wrong.

Wow. Just, WOW!!!!

I get cold chills listening to vocals through this plugin. It’s easily my favorite reverb. It’s truly magic.

Incredible room for drums. Just be aware that this plugin is a CPU hog. I’m freezing and unfreezing constantly but in the end I’m always happy with the end result.

I have many software compressors but this is by far the best and most versatile compressor.

Century is one of those plugins that UAD created based on the knowledge acquired from modeling classic tube preamps. It is not based on a particular model. The idea is interesting. The result is satisfactory but not one of my favorites. It is interesting because it uses relatively little dsp and in addition to emulating the sound of a tube pre, it also has a compressor and equalizer (although very limited). Don't think about doing heavy compression. Only moderate adjustment provides a reasonable result. The equalizer, also used sparingly, offers additional color. In any case, adjusting these parameters moderately, in addition to the pre emulation, will undoubtedly obtain a better sound than the native Apollo pre. I recommend it for those who have little DSP and/or those who are just starting out, due to its ease of use. However, for those looking for a great pre-tube modeled tone, there are better options. One last observation: the output volume is low, even when properly adjusting the signal. This is a project problem, which UAD can easily resolve, and make the updated and corrected plugin available to users.

this is an amazingly good tool for adding rooms. too bad it can't be calculated on my quad card.
