excellent 1176 collection
This collection pack is a real step up from the 'legacy' version.
I hesitated, until the recent price drop, and took the plunge.
Huge on character, much crisper than the legacy version. more dynamic definition when pushed.
Really changes how a sound fits in a mix.
It can radically alter level for more control in mixdown.
Can't compare to hardware, but nor can 99% of punters....
Used on an apollo quad, with great monitors in the studio, this plug-in can spank your speaker-cones to their limits !

Great Compressor
Just great! For vocals, drum, bass, guitars and anything else! My favorite compressor in three different variants!

a great alternative
I bought the UAD2 after testing this plugin. I own and love the Waves and Abbeyroad tape plugins. But this takes everything one step further. But you have to listen very carefully, or you'll overdo it! Watchout for HF boosts and bassdrum smear. If you stay just right under the "too much"-level, everything comes to life in a very beautiful way with this plugin. Killer on the drumbus!!

150 years ago they'd've burned y'all as witches!
The Fairchild 670 seems to me to vindicate completely UA's decision to focus on emulation.
The symbiosis between analogue and digital seems flawless, the genius of the Fairchild designer is allowed to come through because the genius' at UA have had the skill and humility to make their work invisible.
I also think the AMPEX emulation has this quality too!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that, having worked in the box with the usual plugin suspects for years I'm now finding that UA's plugins are teaching me more about recorded sound than I could've imagined. For that I have to say thank you!

Oustanding
Incredible usable plug-in! Yet to find a sound source it didn't respond well to with fairly minimal tweaking. Definitely worth a purchase if you don't have the Studer or Ampex already.

One of the best plugins out there
This plugin is probably one of the best plugins you can find in the digital domain. For mixing and mastering, this plugin delivers a sound that no other plugin can give you. Big thanks to UAD for making this emulation!

Couldn't have asked for better
Have been using the Rev A for tracking vocals this week and it has been incredible. I have loved every second using these and they add something I haven't gotten with other competitor's products.

Oh my
So instant! Its a presto plugin. Used it on the master bus and nailed that Tape sound so well. It also brings out some crisp as well.

Awesome!
When i heard the Legacy version itself, i was blown away and i thought that i do not need to listen to the new collection version. But i was wrong. UAD has taken this forward to a whole new level. It sounds exactly like the hardware and my particular favourite is the 1176 LN Rev E. Strongly recommended.

Amazing Compressor!
This compressor is now one of my favourite compressors!
Works wonders on vocals

MUST HAVE - DSP INTENSIVE THOUGH
As stated in title. You want an EQ, then you need this in your arsenal- tone great.

Fast and precise
It seems to be a military airplane control surface. But not.
Pultec is a vintage Eq to use on almost everything, from the Drums to the Vocals.
Really easy to use, Pultec is a good choice to equilibrate the sound guitar walls, increase the brightness of acoustics and brass.
Fast and precise.

Great plugin - pissed I bought it before the sale
As everyone said great sound emulation works on just about everything .
Bought it on5/20 and used a 100.00 coupon from my Apollo 8 purchase .
Got the email about the half year sale and it feels like a slap on the cheek.
Oh well -

Parallel Eq
There is a legend that Manley MP is a different Eq, from the project, electronic until the sound it gives us.
I never used the hardware version, but this plugins is really special comparing to others I have. It's very easy to add color, brightness and air to the Mix and Master.
I like the way it works and the way it sounds.
Legends are legends, not by chance.

A Classic Plug & Play
It's just a classic.
It's a slow and tube compressor, fits very well on Vocals specially, but with Bass and Guitars also sounds very good.
UA's LA-2A is a device wich is very easy to use and achieve good results. Others emulations of LA-2A are just a JOKE, very hard to reach a musical result.
Don't waste your time. UA LA-2A is simply Plug and Play to Mix!

Lex224 best reverb emulator
Better than altiverb.

Api sound without breaking the bank
The Api channel strip had brought my guitar tracks to life. I always wanted an Api 500 series preamp and Eq but getting into the 500 series cost lots of money and this plugin gives me that preamp and Eq sound that you can get with an Api 500 series for a fraction of the price, and the Eq and high pass filter really make my guitar sound warm and clear... If theres one plugin you need it's this one....

The Original
Okay, maybe not the very first reverb but certainly one of the classics that people always return to when they want that sound. Universal Audio has created an extremely special emulation with sensible customizations that help sounds sit perfectly within the reverb and within the mix. It's really surprising (although perhaps it shouldn't be!) how much a small amount of this can help a mix turn into a record.

Oldie but a goodie
The DBX160 may be one of the older offerings by UAD, but it holds up still. I own the Waves and Softube/NI versions as well, but the UAD wins most of the time. I use this most frequently for parallel kick/snare compression and the UAD version's superiority shows in the low end. The others give a decent smack, but the low end seems less smeared and my kick sits much better in the mix with the UAD DBX160. The others are good models, but I'm sticking with this one when it counts.

Better than all the rest
So excited to get this after using the demo. A/B'ed it with other versions. So clear. Just made the vocals "Fit". No so excited to see it drop from $149 to $99 an hour after I bought it. Who do I call about that?
