Perfect for adding warmth to harsh electronic music and obviously it's so much more , it really brings definition to your mix

MY NEW VOCAL PLATE
Basically since the first time I tried the demo of this reverb I fell in love completely. She definitely became my partner when it came to mixing and recording vocals. Pure Plate makes you feel in a deep space perfect for singing or playing any instrument. I use it on vocals mainly but also on drums, guitars, whatever ... Pure Plate is an expensive sounding reverb at a friendly price.

Fab

Another killer tool
Absolutely love it! Super flexible and easy to use, with just the right amount of signature API vibe, punch and character.

Way! ( part two )
my first review was sort of a series of blanket statements, applicable for Some people making compressor purchase decisions..
i have softube's drawmer and weiss, so this is a tracking go to for me...if you want this for tracking, or your drum bus, look also and the Bx_Masterdeck...but if you do more cleen open mixes, this might be a mastering go to...

LA-3A
The LA-3A , is a my go to for adding a Comp/limiter to bring clarity And a boost to my mix buss or individual busses without mudding the which ever buss I place it on. And on a side note, recording with Luna, working oh so well! Apollo 8P & Luna , well done UA Audio.

no way...no, Way!
it's a little slow,( even in 1 ), but anything i would use it on wouldn't have it as it's only dynamics processor anyway....it gets a little muddy heavy into the "big soft knee" but backing it off clears it up, and it absolutely sings at minimal knee settings..
basically, the lower your threshold the sharper you want to run the knee...conversely, the higher your threshold, the more room you have to soften up the knee....but if more knee starts getting dark on you, and your trying to keep your threshold low, back off on the knee, and it brightens up..

A Must Have!
If you looking to add thickness, depth and dimension to your mixes, this is a must have! If you are interested in adding presence and warmth to your gain staging, this is a must have! And guess what, there's something here for everybody. For those who like to tweak and customize, go for it. But if you are of the drag and drop generation, there are awesome presets customized for guitars, vocals, keyboards, strings, drums, synths......you name it. And, through the UA interface, you can assigned it to multiple tracks, lessening the burden on your computer's processor. So, get it, get it.

Nobody told me the 1176 was an inferior, solid state version of this!
I purchased the 175B/176 recently, and WOW does it have an incredible sound - and it imparts such a lovely heft and grandness to nearly everything - I've had a love affair with the 1176 for a couple decades, but for some reason never really understood the connection to the 176. I know this is the honeymoon phase, and it's not for everything, but the 175B/176 will definitely be a staple in the majority of my mixes going forward.

A Game Changer
That’s def a “must have” plugin, the low end sounds so much bigger and thicker

Thick, Gluey Compression
What I especially like is that the compression does not very obvious compression artifacts; somehow it is transparent in its compression while adding that tube-driven thick tone. I've been using the UA 176 on instrument busses to glue channels together with thick but subtle compression. Highly recommended for vintage tones with dimensionality and depth.

Thanx for this update UAD !
Glad that UAD finally updates this dirty little face of comp ;)
The 2 very nice additions open the door for some new applications and the "emphasis control" is notably very welcomed <3
UAD didn't wait the MKII's upgrade to boost this LA3A : who will have any complains about that fact ???

Easy to Use
Great on any track, easy to use and sounds nice. Definitely nice to have and different than the studio D chorus.

Widen Just about any sound
Super cool plug in, most of my tracks touch it in some sort of way. Really Widens the sounds.

Hearing it is Believing
This plug in is expensive but worth it. I didn’t believe it until I actually heard it in action. Adds so much life and character to my master bus. If your ears are not trained then you’ll probably miss the magic.

better than the fairchild for most things ( coming back for these later )
compression is so financially painful because there is no one thing with it..
the fairchild was an expensive unit because it had so many stages in trying to be a tube "brick wall limiter" with an expansive knee control...
but if your just dressing up a take, and what to leave a good portion of the dynamics intact, introducing some, but not too much too much, THD convolution, then these are going to be the go to......or if your planning on using the fairchild as your mastering compressor, then you don't want it on individual takes ( the only exception being drums, and volume pot wielded single channel guitar amps )
