Digital Pimps
Relegated to legacy status for already existing owners of the API Channel Strip.
E(mbedded) G(rowth) O(bligation) is a really cancer. This is why buying outboard gear is so much smarter rather than getting pimped for emulations. No option for zero starts.

UA degrades my license.
I purchased the API Vision Channel Strip Collection some time ago. This ‘upgraded’ version, which is essentially the same made my current license obsolete, and I now have to purchase this product once more to stay current. On my plug-in list, it is clear that I own the API Vision Strip Collection, as it shows the license this plug-in, which has the exact same name (!) with a tiny facelift is $300.00. Essentially they downgraded my license to some kind of ‘legacy’, since it does not state that I own this plugin any longer while viewing it on the UAD site. I’m disappointed.

Thanks for adding the Mix control
I know this is a duplicate (I reviewed it 4+ years ago) but I said I would give 5 stars if you added the mix control - well thanks (even if 4+ years later). you did it. It is now officially the best DBX 160 plugin ever!

Just an analog :)
It's great to add some analog sound to the mix as well as the individual tracks.

The classic Vangelis/Blade Runner reverb
I was looking for that classic Vangelis/Blade Runner sound. In short: this is it! Absolutely amazing how you can use insane amounts of reverb with this plugin, without getting a muddy mix. LOVE IT!

Magnetic

Manley VOXBOX Channel Strip Review
The Manley VOXBOX Channel Strip is a very incredible and timesaving plugin. Love all the features within it. It's so awesome to add this incredible plug in to my library. Thanks Universal Audio for making life much easier...If you don't have it...try it out...you'll be glad you did.

Go to EQ
This Eq pretty much goes on every track and buss. It’s a little dsp hungry so I often have to spend some time with each instance and bounce the new sound to get rid of the plug in but it’s worth it. Then once I place it on the master or a buss it helps everything sort of find it’s place in the mix very quickly. You can crank this thing in any direction and it will hardly sound bad.

SMOOTH
Smooth is the best word for this mic pre! Smooth compression, smooth high end and smooth sound.. love it! I would still love to try the real unit but for now.. this is perfect!!

Space is the Place
New convert to UA plugins, and getting great results from the wilder end of this amazing Echo. Adds so much space and atmosphere, and so much to explore - the presets are great to understand the possibilities

What can I say? Smoooooooth
This thing is just glorious. I don't use it much as I am usually pushing my CPU to the max on big projects, but this emulation on strings is just like honey. I will be using it more on a synth project soon. Love it.

First stop on the master bus
The colorization possibilities provided by tape choices, tape speed, eq settings, etc. has me reaching for this lovely recreation, way ahead of other plugins in my master bus. The warmth or grit it can supply is amazing.

Tape Trio!
As many others here have said, this isnt a "lite" version of the Studer or Ampex machines. The Oxide has a flavor of its own! As someone who likes to fiddle with all the options under the hood its a lifesaver for short deadlines with it's "set and forget" design. Low DSP usage and the pleasant "glue" it adds when used across a mix makes this a win win for me!

Make your tracks shine
Wanted to try this out on prerecorded material since most only talk about it as a Unison plugin.
Could not believe the difference it makes on existing vocal tracks a definite winner.
Love this plugin.

wow!
UA has changed my life in so many ways....But if I had to pick one plugin that has LITERALLY been a game changer...the Pultec. I am fairly new to professional level mixing and mastering...I loop my djembe live ....pretty much everyone agrees that getting the low end is one of the hardest aspects of pro audio mixing....I was stymied and have been for years how to capture my djembe drum. I had everything sphere microphone and 76 UA plugins but it wasn't until I discovered the "Pultec Trick" on the low end that my life got so much easier! Look it up....boost the low end and attenuate at the same time....really shapes the sound!

Excellent Plugins From UAD Yet Again
I love these compressors. They are sophisticated in their design in the way that they give your tracks punch and presence at moderate input levels but sound smooth and forgiving without that harsh dead sound unlike a number of other emulations and digital compressors out there.
My favourite use is putting the 1176 RevA on the drum bus following a good dose of saturation to tighten things up and recover transients. In addition, that distinctive pumping warmth you get on kick drums when you increase the gain is too good. I A/B’d this with a straight volume increase and no compression to make sure I wasn’t fooling myself and started to quickly grab my wallet for my bank card. You got me again UAD. Great work

Adds Thump
Nothing is as important in pop and rock mixes as the kick and bass working together to drive the beat. The DBX works so often to make this really happen. Nothing is right a hundred percent of the time. I still start with the 160 on my kick and bass then go from there. You will be right much more often than wrong. It can also smash a acoustic so it can be pulled to the front of a mix. While I am sure it has dozens of other things it does well. However, the three I listed make the DBX 160 a must have.
