A small step for....
Now we're talking, a compressor that sounds and works like a compressor. I would give it 5 stars, but I'm sure you will improve on it in a year or five.

Cool for vocals and drums
Hello i use 1176 ae version its dramatic fantastic. For vocals i use 1176 rev e with ln2a teletronix the vocal bites you its cool for all kimd of mısic. For bass guitar i use 1176 LN with pultec eq its awesome too. Thanks uad apollo twin usb

I put the oxide on anything that is harsh and it just smooths it out

What a worthy addition
Being a long term UAD user and having just purchased the Sound Toys package, I found the Decimator to be a real go to for achieving that gel I'm always looking for.
Now, as for bass, I found the Sound Toys to be a bit of a failure for my tone preferences. Ok if you like bald faced rock sounds but that's not my only playground.
So I took a chance on Oxide.
It's exactly what I needed to get that burning log fatness that I really like of McCartney's Beatles bass recordings.
Coupled with the Vertigo VSC Compressor on the bass preset via Brainworx, it's a no-brainer (excuse the alliteration.)

I really like how the low and high frequencies start to sound a little bit more punchy.

I won't bother with the whole UA plugins rock, cause we've all come to that conclusion. When I read these reviews, I want comparisons to other UA plugins. I a/b'ed all the eq's on a few different tracks/ songs and the pultec sounded the best for individual track use. I didn't even know my acoustic guitar was that lacking before. Absolutely lush and beautiful with the pultec. If you want a surgical or clean eq, try the Oxford or something else. If you want that oozing tone coloration, this is the eq. Easy to use and every combination of settings sound great. Helios is great for a similar coloration effect, and the Manley Massive Passive rocks on the master channel for adding clarity. I want the Harrison too, but this is your first buy!

The proverbial optical compressor. Makes ITB mixing a total joy.The silver can be used on more source material than you can shake a stick at. Try it!

Really good for saturation
I really like this tape. It's great for adding overdrive to guitars. I really like it for that saturation. The only thing I don't like its that I cannot run many of them on my Apollo Twin Duo. I guess I'll just have to buy more processing eventually.

A definite must
I never did like the original 1176 on vocals, but the blue stripe works magic on vocals. I got the bundle just for the blue stripe (at $99, it's a no-brainer). Looking forward to finding uses for the other ones.

They are all amazing for the group channels, and sometimes for the master line as well. The best sound I ever heard in software. Really happy with this collection.

Useful Upgrade
I started using the legacy 1176 and I had been hesitating to upgrade to full collection
Well, I don't regret.
As I'm used to go to Rev A for drums, and like Blackface for anything, I recently re-discovered Slow Attack mode from AE revision. Working wiith a lead track which doesn't fluctuate dynamically too much , it will magically and smoothly sit the voice into the mix.

Being able to quickly make use of tape saturation to catch high peaks and transients without all the extra choices that Ampex tape brings is great.
