One Word: "Beautiful"
Great plugins, 3 LA2A with 3 completely different characteristics. Best way how i can describe it, "Beautiful"

Complete quality channel strip
I bought the API Strip and the Neve 1073 to test the Unison technology of my Apollo and after recording some guitars and bass with it I decided to sell my low budget hardware preamp.
The results with this preamp are really surprising, the bass and mid are solid and the treble is present but not harsh .
I found the API 512 sound that I know really well at a fifth of the price.
The compressor can respond really fast and works in a lot of material.
Like the 1073 it's DSP hungry so I turn off what I don't need in the strip when recording.
The EQ its classic API and nothing like the Waves one, IMO this one gets really near the original hardware.
Missing an option to turn off the preamp module to save some DSP when using it in the DAW.

Reverb Luxury
Got the 224 with the EMT 140 and 250 and after using them in a long mixing marathon I can say that my reverb arsenal its complete.
The 224 it's the luxury of the reverb plug-ins.
To get a decent reverb sound it takes 2min maximum and I save time in the mixing since I don't have to fiddle with loads of knobs to get a decent reverb sound like before.
You get depth and width from this reverb, the sound its dense.
All the programs are useful.
I never used the real hardware but the plug-in its really good.

Wow! Just Wow!
These are as close to the hardware as you can get, and much closer than the original UAD 1176LN plugin. Love the AE version, and the Rev E. Just used all three versions in a mix this week. The AE saved my butt on a dominant acoustic guitar, the long 10ms attack setting was invaluable. The Rev E was awesome on snare, gives it that BC punch, resonance, and thickness. A must have collection for any serious mixer's toolbox!

3 in 1
So gentle comp's. All three is different beasts. My favorite is Gray, I use this for everything what needs soft and musical compression. New LA2A not just compressor it's great sound saturator, it's change cold DAW track on warm analog.

Must have!
I have 2-1176 hardware compressor in my studio. After upgrade 1176 legacy to new collection I can feel the hardware vibe. Absolutely best compression from software market. Now I don't hear difference between soft and hard 1176. Don't worry about 150$, it's real deal!

Studer A800 'the missing link'
No matter how great or big you're plug-in collection is it all comes to the effect of summing and colors. With pre-amps, eq's, compression etc the whole effect of mixing in the box only comes to a lack of colors that actually make the 'record' sound. Among other options the Studer is a basic tool I use either on individual tracks, busses, master output or both. It depends how you use it. The presets are handy if you haven't worked with the real machine but the magic is of course created by yourself because this entirely depends on what you put in en know how to use.

Pultec Passive EQ Collection
Great EQ for everything, excellent sound. Adds body, warmth and a nice top end. Thanks Universal Audio

Took a while to convince me but..
It took me a while to be completely convinced it was worth the money. The deal breaker for me was stacking it against the 1176 so that they were both compressing just a little bit. I managed to get consistently good results on vocals and guitars before I decided it was worth the purchase.
All being said it's a compressor of which there are thousands out there, if you like the sound of it and find it relatively easy to use (I imagine you will say yes to both of those), then by all means it's a product for you :)

Great EQ, easy to use,
I used the Pulteq EQ on Bass synth a lot and master
The big difference for me, between the old and the new version is the Pultec Passive collection is more precise, less muddy than the old one. It's great to have an eq that boost the bass frequency without having a muddy low end !!!

Man...
I've been trying to figure out what to do with my hardware since I got this. It's phenomenal, and actually my most "go-to" pre of all the pres available on the Apollo. Compared to the Neve 1073, you'll notice this preamp doesn't have that punchy midrange. Instead it seems to have a more extended and well detailed low end. It definitely has a warm and much more even tempered sound. The EQ's and Compressor are a conversation piece in themselves. Easily 5 star, and probably the best value of all the Pres.

Lexicon 224
Highly recommended, I have the Lexicon Pcm Reverb bundle but the 224 seems much warmer and fatter than the Lexicon bundle. Can't be beat especially on vocals!

Good stuff !!!
Real good for the kick drum. Also great on snare too.

Awesome Plug-in
I purchased an expensive analog channel strip to use before my vocals hit the Apollo Twin. It was decent, but something was missing. For my situation, The API Vision Channel Strip, put the Analog unit to shame. There was no need for the bulky expensive box any more. I mainly use the API Strip for the very responsive expander. It works great when you are recording in an untreated room or noisy area. However, all of the other features are very handy too. Being able to load 2 API strips inside the same chain offers up come cool mixing options too.
