Really an excellent plugin
The UA Lexicon 224 reverb plugin is one of the best emulation of Lexicon hardware I ever used. Realistic, warm, beautiful, and easy to use. I'm really satisfied.

I like it and its useful for everything
I never had the chance to work on a real 1176, so I can't say anything about the emulation. But this plug in sounds great on everything. There is also no latency on the input and it is great to use it with my u87.

1176 AE Great compressor on Bass and drums
i wasn't really impressed by the the 1176 LN or SE but when I tried the 1176 AE, I understood why so many studio are using it. It just works so nicely I can only recommend you to test it and forget the LN and SE version.
On bass I combine it to the LA2-A + pulteq EQ-1A + Bx Saturato

Instant Upgrade To My Sound
If you record rock then the API channel is a must have staple. I am still learning all its functions but it works great for tracking. nothing like running a whole drum kit through a system that would cost hundreds of thousands. Love it for tracking vocals to with unison tech. It's awesome!

Things is my first choice EQ for vocals, it just adds sweet musical character, I've even used it for voice over. Lately I've been using it in the mix buss, give it a try!

essential to all UAD owners
this is the desert island compressor that every UAD system needs. It wont have the most character, but it will handle all types of material in a predictable manner.

Miękki, plastyczny. Świetna emulacja, masakruje innych producentów. NIe dziwie się się, że nie używają oryginalnej nazwy Pultec tylko posługują się symbolami nawiązującymi do oryginalnego produktu. Najlepsze EQ. Może być używane do wszystkiego od stopki po smyczki. Universal Audio - gratulacje!

My Go-To for Bass DI
This preamp is great, and the wealth of features in this strip allow you to do almost anything to shape your sound. I find the EQ very easy to push and pull frequencies, gain some low end add a bit of shine at the top, without getting drastic. The gate has been very useful at smoothly cutting hum on the end of bass lines. I haven't been successful getting great results out of the compressor and will usually rely on an LA2A or 1176 if thats the sound I'm after. All in all a great starting point for almost any source.

API Vision Channel Strip , great for Bass recordings
I use this one for recording Bass tracks through a Apollo Twin Duo . Great presets are already involved . The Bass sits in the Mix , without sounding boomy or upfront . 5Stars

Crank It Up!
In 1999, I was in Metroplis Studio A in London, and I saw a Pultec Eq for the first time. I asked the sound engineer: "how are you using this on guitars?" He answered: "very easy, just crank it up!", he did crank up the hig to 10, and it sounded awesome. Sometimes when your hear some beautiful piece of gear, it remains printed in your mind, you have a physical memory of it.

Love the sound. The interface takes a little time to get use to as it is very different from typical reverb units, but taking the time to learn is well worth the effort.
