LA3A Sweeeeeeeeeeet!
Butter! Best way to describe this one is like a combo plate of a 1776 & LA2A, if that makes any sense? Nice plugin!

CLEAR
Feeling of the transparency matches a reverberation, and it doesn't become impure.
The mix isn't saturated, so it's saved.

Awesome! Period.
Breathes life into any instance. The options are great. Like most reverbs it uses quite a bit resources, however this is so much more than any reverb. Definately a MUST HAVE plugin.

This sounds nothing like waves cla-3a IMO so if they are supposedly modelled upon the same compressor somebody is trekking porkies.
The UA version has a much much shorter attack, can trash most transients in about 3db gain reduction, which at times is perfectly wonderful. The waves version sounds more similar to UA la2a IMO. I own both and use both as they are both different enough, as to accuracy, jury is out

my vita of reverbs until lexicon 224
I startet recording at home about 40 years ago.
My first reverb was a furman spring reverb, .... not bad
the second one was a Dynacord drp 16, that seemed in that times quite modern, but i had a terrible humm on the gear and didnt know how to get rid of, now i would know
third one was a Roland drv 3000, then tc electronics 3000.
But the lexicon makes the best and fullest Sound i have ever heard and justifies the very best rumors about it, since a normal musician never could get in the near of this Kind of gear without a Major deal.
But now we can
Yeah!!!.... Peace!!!!!

REVERB MAGIC
This reverb simply sounds amazing and is so simple to use just like the true unit, I have been able to see the real unit in action and it really is incredible to hear in person. The snare sounds and vocal sounds other engineers were able to pull off with the hardware was nothing short of amazing, demoed this bad boy out and was able to get the same colors, I had to buy it. This reverb has an openness that is simply not available anywhere else. Grab it demo it, you need to own it.

Great sound. Easily manipulated.

Great COMP
I use mostly for voices and drums love it ! sound very similar to the CLA 3 A but way more solid than waves plugin !

Not Just Another Comp...
I already have the L2 and 1176 collections plus the Fairchilds; I really thought the LA3 couldn't keep up...until I tried it. This little compressor brings a sweetness to everything; try it on the output of your 224 or EMT140... Awesome.

Great Plugin, Easy to use sounds great
If you're liking for a good compressor that's quick and doesn't hog DSP this is it. Doesn't slow you down and once you learn it dialing things in becomes second nature. Great for sound design and the production stage.

Great Compressor, but new version please!
Man- this thing has it all. The La-3a is simple, practical and for some drum mixing, it is all it really needs to go through to get the job done. Really enjoy working with this! The only complaint is that the GUI is so dang small! My eyes are bad, but even with glasses, I find it hard to see. I hope the new version includes a larger screen! My EYES are not a fan, but my EARS love it!

Best Reverb Plug by far
I know it's subjective and I certainly haven't tried every single reverb plug-in/hardware, but this thing is absolutely fantastic. You can really shape a great sound with ease. It sounds killer on anything - I use it on vocals 99.9% percent of the time. You can be nice and subtle or you can really make something sound like it was played 10 years ago and is just now catching up - if that makes sense. Can't say enough good things.
.
outstanding reverbs!
I learned mixing with berklee online and everybody got super crazy about my reverbs - always! All I ever used was the 224 for halls, chambers and plates, as well as the oceanway plugin for rooms and small halls. This combination is killer! I mean what else do you need?

Memories are made of this
I have worked with the hardware for many years, it is still in my ears - and in my fingers, concerning the workflow. When I first tried the plug in, it was like tasting Prousts Madeleine. I immediately recognized the distinctive, noble sound of the Lexicon 224. It is like an instrument on its own. You don't just type in some values - you play with it, with the faders, in a very musical way. And, thanks to the digital domain, without (or even with, if you really want to go old school) the noise of the hardware. Incredible.
Thanks to you people at UAD for preserving the greatest achievements in sound and breathing new life into them. It keeps the palette rich and full of colours.

LUSH!
This is by far one of the best emu reverbs on the market, great work UA

Surprisingly good! But dated GUI.
This is really a good and clean sounding compressor plugin considering that it was released 8 years ago. I have never worked with the hardware unit so I can't say what's missing in this one, but it does a great job. I especially like it in series with another compressor on something like vocals.
The DSP usage is pretty low by todays standard. I fear that an MkII version would be a bit over the top in that regard. But the GUI really needs an update! It's way too tiny on a modern screen and looks really dated.
