Magic Wand
I don't how but it works great on anything. Mix bus, bass, drums, vocals, guitars etc. Simple to use and really sounds beautiful. I got it with my Apollo twin at October Sale but really worth to buy. Thumbs up for the price/performance monster.

UA Does it again!
I've been using this plugin for a few weeks now and this beat all tube tech/ pultech emulations on the market. Having worked with the hardware I can attest to the fact that this plugin sounds just as good if not better than the real thing. I say better because I have encountered pultec gear that was not kept in proper working condition and when the hardware is not maintained properly the sound is garbage. I mostly use the EQ-P1a, the high end is silky and smooth the bottom end thick and heavy. I love inserting it on my mix bus, which is something you can't do with the hardware.

The word you're looking for is ... CHARACTER!
The difference that sets this LA-2A collection apart from the legacy model, and also models from other companies, is the very distinct voice of each compressor in the collection. the effect of the compression seems as light-handed as you would want it to be on the LA-2As, but even turning it on imparts a sonic effect on whatever track you choose - each has its own chunk and presence. And the LA-2 is simply a beast! I'm already seeing an effect on my mixes as I replace other LA-2A models with instances from this collection. WOW!

This one beats the competition (J37 & Satin) by a looooong shot, it provides warmth and character like no other tape plugin I've tried. Put it on the master bus for extra glue and finish.

Unbeatable for tracking
during a live tracking session if you want to add an instant character change on a new vocal or instrument track try the Studer - it can be as subtle or as ballsy as you want it to be, I prefer it to walk the line there so it's more of a "feel" thing - push it just to the point where you start to hear a little overload and then back it off. Also the EQ options are killer for HF and LF roll off! Backing these tape sounds up against the sound of cleaner digital signals gives a really cool effect in a track. Definitely 100% happy with my purchase.

Subtle and deep tape emulation
this model is so detailed in terms of controls and options that you'll be able to tweak away endlessly to your heart's content -but it can also be as quick as you want it to be. Every new tool lends a different possible flavor, but this plugin is probably close to as subtle and variable as actually having one of these machines. Really looking forward to trying the ATR out on new mastering projects coming up.

Well, I have Studer A800 which I use on my drums. Oxide finds its way on to my drums depending on what the track calls for but generally, this goes on my synths and sub basses. o.0/.

I like the compressor!
I haven't had the time to fully test the eq and unison section yet, but at a quick crash test i noticed that the punchy setting on the compressor works really well! i don't have a lot of plug-ins that get the punch sound just right but this one comes pretty close :)

Just when I thought I had my bus chain figured out, UA had to go flip my world upside down again. My jaw hit the floor when I got this thing dialed in for the first time. If you are used to using the Waves 2500, prepare to have your head spun. I will never not use this compressor on my bus, or... anything I can really! Do yourself a favor and buy it.

The first real API-2500 Plugin
I used other API-2500 Emulation plugins before,but none of them works that extraordinary well as the new UAD API-2500. Congratution UAD! Excellent Sound, nice shaping, character, excellent glue on the mixbus. On of my top favourite Plugins. I am very happy with the plugins in v9 AND that Console 2.0 is there Finally for Apollo Firewire.

"That awesome Tape Sound...": ALSO FOR ON YOUR MASTER TRACK!!!
I Love this one! It is a successful emulation of a famous Studer multitrack recorder and with the many options it has I can sculpt the my mix-tracks exactly to my taste. "Tape" does something other plugins can not achieve (so easily) and the Studer A800 is my new favorite, next to the Ampex ATR-102 of course ;-). I use other tape emulations from Waves and Slate as well, but lately I find myself going for the "UA twins" first :-). Don't forget to try it on your master-track as well; you'll be surprised with the MOJO it can add to your overall mix!

API 2500 inside my Mac :)
UA have done it again, and I'm glad to stand by UA as a long time user of UAD plugins. They nailed the API EQ's, and now they've nailed the compressor. Love the familiar grab, punch and VCA / OpAmp tone of the API 2500. Scary close to an actual 2500, and I look forward to using this new beast in my hybrid chain followed by the API 5500 analog EQ. Well done UA!

Instantly and fully customizable "analog tape" sound!
You can read everywhere how good this tape-plugin sounds. And I wholeheartedly agree with that, but for me the biggest asset is that you can adjust all kind of parmeters to your likings depending on what the specific track/project needs; If you don't want noise, you switch it off, add wow & flutter, have different tape choices and calibrations, do bias adjustments, all in a few clicks for easy comparison. Imagine what a hastle that would be with a real tape machine. Oh and did I mention the glue and the breath it adds to your tracks?! This one is a real winner!
