This is an amazing plugin worth trying.
This is a fantastic plugin to use on your master bus. It makes the mix wider and the warmth is amazing. This i cant live without. Its one of my favorites and it will stay on my master in the future on every mix.

Wow!!!!
Using this beast now for more then a year and it turns out to be one of my main masterbus plugins. Besides using it for my masterfader, you can also really kick ass on individual signals if you want. It can add beatiful upper harmonics, distortion, and even delay.

Studer on everything
I took the chance (read: put down the not insignificant amount of cash) and bought the Studer/Ampex bundle because I dig the idea of tape saturation although I've never recorded to tape.
Now I've been using it on all tracks in my band's 10 song post-death metal project and I am very happy with it! It helps tie the tracks of each song together for a consistent expression. It gives the snare great fullness, rounds off the harsh edges of the higain guitars and makes the vocals sound just very pleasing. Bass and kick also gets a go, but I'm still learning to avoid adding too much lowend, it seems it adds up fast. Eats DSP but it's fun to do an all-Studer 'first mix' and then bounce the 'Studered' tracks, and go on to round two (eq, comp etc.)

I can't live without it
To be honest? There are outside a lot of native alternatives of classic gear emulations, every day a new better than the others, and native means more portability/less problems, but this astounding plugin is the real reason why I still work with the UAD dsp system.
The real only alternative is a real Studer Tape recorder!
Period.

the tape is not spinnin'
I don't know what's goin on,
since I bought it, the tape is not spinnin' anymore in the interface.
don't know if this effect the sound of the plug or not.

Tape!
Whenever I record Drums or Guitar's, especially acoustics this machine is a must.
I do a lot of "Cavaquinhos" and "Bandolins" recordings and there is nothing like the "Tape" to control the rough of a digital recording.

Best simulation of tape. Many settings. As if working with a real original. Now always on mastering. Great job. Thanks UA.

Studer® A800
Excellent simulation of the tape. Remember with pleasure to work with the original Studer. All very natural. Softness and density of the tape is always welcome. Plugin does it perfectly. Many settings. Ideal for the recording. Thank you.

nice plug in
very flexible sound, clearly very well designed and while the tape distortion doesn't sound like tape distortion, it does sound damn good.

This one's worth it
Best tape emulation to slap over the master buss - does subtly huge things if that makes any sense?
From really clean to beautifully crunchy mayhem, not only can it tighten the mix up but it's great for crunching drums.instruments up too..
This is definitely one you won't regret. Watch a tutorial and familiarise yourself with all the controls to get the most from it.

Fatness
Does an incredible job on drums and brass. Sounds musical and warm if needed.

Badass on the mix bus!
Best thing you can add to your mix bus on in-the-box mixes. Adds dimension, fatness, 'realness' to every mix I do. Great range of control, great presets for starting points, lots of room for tweaks and experimentation. And by the way, the 'factory default' setting isn't a bad place to start on this machine if you're initially mystified with all the variables (and presets).
Really, really great and truly worth every penny.

Studer A800 'the missing link'
No matter how great or big you're plug-in collection is it all comes to the effect of summing and colors. With pre-amps, eq's, compression etc the whole effect of mixing in the box only comes to a lack of colors that actually make the 'record' sound. Among other options the Studer is a basic tool I use either on individual tracks, busses, master output or both. It depends how you use it. The presets are handy if you haven't worked with the real machine but the magic is of course created by yourself because this entirely depends on what you put in en know how to use.

ATR 102
Its Amazing!! Just putting it on the masterbus or the drumbus or leadvocals... Just make wonders to the sound with just its presets, makes the sound crispier and fatter and improves the stereoimage! I lööööv it!!

Not really a Plugin
This one really stands out. It's not often that go in to a project/mix thinking specifically how this Plugin will be used as part of the planning. I love it, and it's part of my workflow. I when I think about it, I don't think, "plugin", and "Hey, How will this sound? Let's give it a try." I think "Tape Recorder". There is so much ground it can cover and cover it exceptionally. There are large number of great sounding presets to get you started with your new "studio gear" too.
Definitely becoming a "desert island" piece of kit!
