Thanks UAD - Nice Job!
I was happily surprised to find that you indeed (as I was secretly hoping) gave the existing 201 users the Galaxy plugin for free while maintaining the 201 support for older mixes where we would have used the 201...
But I was even happier when testing the new Galaxy... It happened that the last track I am producing is a modern reggae beat and the Galaxy fits the bill superbly... To my ears it does not only sound vintage... It sounds like a new vintage as if the older unit was revamped or something... A modern vintage (:-D nice)... I would see it equally at home on a classic Rock or Dub track or on a newer sounding such as modern Dancehall or even Dubstep etc...
Great job guys! Thanks again!!
Now I'll have to check for the bundle :-D

I enjoy using this plugin! Endless sonic landscapes!

Cracking good Echo Unit
This is going to be one of my favourite plug ins. As usual with UAD, the aesthetics are amazing, and the product matches it. I like running the return through an analog desk from pro tools as if it were the real thing.. sounds mint with some real transformers getting behind it

Best easy tape tracking plugin on market, native or otherwise
Sheer brilliance. My last experience with real tape was in 1998. I decided to take the raw stems from that track and see how close I could get to the high end studio tape recording. Oxide did a wonderful job. This is the plugin that you put on every channel to simulate track to tape, with absolutely zero fuss. For an analogue tape mix emulation, just gain stage properly, insert oxide and adjust gain staging to taste to emulate the level you would record at to analog tape, and instant goodness. Then after the gain staging use your DAW faders for standard level mixing. If a mix is done properly, there is no situation where it doesn't sound better with oxide enabled. Yes, even on electronic music. Low dsp, low latency, highest quality. a must

Well done UA !
as a RE201's owner I'm seeing myself very satisfied that UA give to me this version which bring essentially a new GUI that is more HD friendly.
Thanks again !

Une touche analogique
Bonjour

Awesome!
Often adds a lot more to a mix or track than expected. Was skeptical at first, but from the moment I inserted the demo version I was very impressed. Colors the sound very similar to my 8-track 1/2 inch. I purchased it and use it often....Highly recommended....

I thought that having Oxide was "good enough"
I initially thought that this was too expensive, and that having Oxide would be enough for my tape emulation needs. While Oxide does a great job of sounding like a tape machine, the studer is just way more adjustable and allows for a much larger sound palette. However, there is one caveat. I am glad I purchased it during Magnetic Tape month though, just because the normal price is more than i would comfortably spend. Im not a pro user, so I cant justify 3-500 bucks for bits, no matter how good they are. At 200 bucks, the studer is a no-brainer purchase. At full price, I would not have purchased it, but only on principle.

Fantastic quick and dirty tape
Great alternative to the other UAD tape emulations in that it has minimal controls and most of the time it's just a case of instantiating the plugin and affecting the input and output! Lovely sounding saturation if you want to drive it and is the perfect antidote for sometimes anaemic digital recordings. Big thumbs up!

Ampex...
Fantastic tape emulator!!! It was so difficult to choose between Ampex and the Studer A800 Multichannel Tape Recorder, another great tape emulator. But I I demoed it for 15 days and chose Ampex, it works with my recordings. Thank you!

The Right Complement to the Studer and Ampex Machines
Just like many folks before me, I thought that there was no room for improvement after buying the UAD tape machines. In fact, they have left my U-He Satin sitting virtual dust. However, Oxide is another flavor to add to the roster. It may look like a dumbed-down version of its older brothers, but it's not. It's simple to use, great sounding, and a *different* tone from the other two tape machine emulations. If you can't jump the gun for Ampex or Studer yet, this is a great way to get your foot through the door. And you get a discount for the other two plugins in the future.

Another Great Fuggin' Plugin!!!
When I bought my Apollo 8 with the Quad Satellite and Twin Duo I was bummed out that missed my chance to buy the Roland Space Echo. Especially since I've been longing to obtain that particular plugin for awhile. But then comes along the Galaxy Tape Echo, which not only sounds exactly like the Space Echo, but behaves like it too! I ran a side by side test using my new Galaxy and the demo of the Roland version and they are exactly the same which is what I was hoping for. Now I'll be able to recreate those classic dub reggae effects in my mixes with that classic Roland sound. Thank you Universal Audio for another great fuggin' plugin!!!

Worth every penny
I use Apollo mostly for composing and preproduction at the moment and put the Studer in the master bus. The mix is soooo much better with Studer, much more natural, analog sounding, punchy. I am pretty sure that after my experience with Apollo and the plugins in the last weeks, they will be a part of real production of our next CD this year. Studer is THE sound for me.

Tape Simplicity
Warm & punchy. Easy to use. The other are great as well, but this doesn't discourage me with all the buttons and knobs. simply a few knobs to find the sweet spot. Another winner from UA!!

Love it!!!
It 'tighten' up my 'in the box' mixes and gives them a natural feel. Love it!!! Going to buy oxide for individual tracks and busses to save some precious DSP on the sharc's.

STUDER A 800
It's Insane not to use it. As a former "Hit Factory" Using reel to reel and 499 2' inch tape in comparison this comes as close as you can get.
