Universal Audio Partners with Levi’s® Music Project and Stax Music Academy on “Song Lab”
— Levi’s® Music Project and Justin Timberlake promote music education at the Stax Music Academy, powered by Universal Audio recording gear —
SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • December 6, 2019 — This August, Universal Audio partnered with Levi’s® Music Project and music icon Justin Timberlake to outfit the Stax Music Academy in Memphis, Tennessee with a suite of world-class recording equipment. As part of the academy's month-long recording workshop, more than 20 students gained hands-on experience in music production using UA's popular Apollo Twin and Arrow desktop interfaces — culminating in a day-long feedback session with Grammy-winning recording artist and Memphis native Timberlake.
Thanks to Justin and Levi’s®, Stax Music Academy is now equipped with a new room called “The Song Lab” — a remodeled facility designed for songwriting workshops. Stage-ready instruments, as well as recording, audio, and production equipment, were kindly donated by Universal Audio and other top MI manufacturers.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Levi’s to educate and inspire young musicians,” said Bill Putnam Jr., founder and CEO of Universal Audio. “Levi’s dedication to craftsmanship closely aligns with our mission at UA. It’s an honor to work with Levi’s Music Project, and of course an icon like Justin Timberlake — and we look forward to future collaborations.”
Through the Levi’s® Music Project, Levi’s® has helped give young people access to music education programs, community resources, and experiences with industry-leading musicians. Levi's® Music Project supports youth music education by connecting some of the world’s biggest artists with local community groups to provide long term resources that will equip local youth to impact the world through music.
